Welcome to Buzzboard
Buzzboard is Nortel’s official news blog. This blog will have a little different style than our other current blogs by John Roese and Phil Edholm (and even Tony Ryb’s blog on TMCnet). My goal for this blog is simple: Keep you informed about Nortel news and happenings, and give you a forum for commenting on it as well.
We’ll talk about Nortel news (press releases), provide you with some (hopefully) interesting tidbits of Nortel news that didn’t make the cut list for press releases, and help you keep track of what others are saying about Nortel. Along the way we’ll throw in some industry news and perspectives, and give you some insight to some of our executives, technology experts and customers through guest blogs.
But the main focus of this blog is Nortel news…and news happens every day, so once we get this thing going (read: once I can get someone to take all my old responsibilities) I expect to post on a daily basis.
While I won’t be the only blogger to post, I am responsible for holding down the fort. So here’s a little bit about me. My name is Bo Gowan. I have spent 12 years at Nortel (through the boom, the bust and everything since then). During that time I have supported marketing, comms, PR and AR activities across many of Nortel’s product areas, including Enterprise, Optical, Metro Ethernet, and Carrier networks. I am a marketing guy at heart, but at my time at Nortel have learned to understand - even like - the technology side of the business.
But trust me you will never see a post from me debating Layer 2 switching vs. Layer 3 routing.
And any time you’ll give it, I’d like your feedback on what you’d like (or need) from this blog. Just post a comment here, or email me anytime at bogowan@nortel.com.
