New IDC study details “exploding culture of connectivity”

Today Nortel and IDC issued the results of a new IDC study sponsored by Nortel on the “Exploding culture of connectivity and its impact on the Enterprise.”  There is a ton of great information in this study, so here’s a quick summary of it.

Nortel CTO John Roese and IDC Canada’s Senior VP of Worldwide Consulting and Managing Director, Vito Mabrucco speak to a group of media in Toronto this morning on the results of IDC’s global survey sponsored by Nortel.For an overview of the study results, take a look at the Nortel press release.  You can find a collection of related content and discussion of the study (as well as an interactive online poll) on this new page on nortel.com.  To read the actual study report, from that same page download the IDC White Paper “The Hyperconnected - Here They Come!”, sponsored by Nortel, May 2008.  There are also two separate video podcasts on the page discussing the survey results — one from IDC chief research officer and senior VP John Gantz, and the second from Nortel CTO John Roese.

This morning in Toronto, John Roese and IDC Canada’s Senior VP of Worldwide Consulting and Managing Director, Vito Mabrucco, hosted a press conference in Toronto detailing the study results.  Some coverage on the study’s findings is already starting to pop up — see articles in Reuters, the Globe & Mail, and ITPro.
