John Roese’s Blog CTO, Nortel

So, ahh … where are you at in terms of deployment?

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Over the last couple of blog entries, I’ve introduced the concept of communications-enabled applications, and talked about the concepts of SOA and Web Services and the advent of middleware. I’ll talk more about these areas in future entries, but today I wanted to use the blog to get a sense of what’s actually happening in these areas in your own companies.

Please take a minute and let me know which one of the following categories you fall into. The focus here is on the Enterprise side of things in terms of the use of SOA and Web Services, as opposed to IMS in the Carrier world (which I’ll talk about at a future time).

If you don’t know where your organization is today in terms of use/deployment of .NET, WebSphere, or other Web Services frameworks, I encourage you to give someone in your IT org a call to find out – you might be surprised at just how educated your IT people are around the concepts and even how far your organization has advanced.

I’d love to have your feedback, so please take a minute to let me know.

In addition to completing the survey, feel free to leave a comment and share your insights/experiences in this growing area of interest/importance to us all.

Look forward to hearing from you.

  1. The adoption of WebServices within the IMS camp has been ParlayX up to this point. We will also see an increasing number of Web2.x and Web3.x applications and platforms; which can be rapidly implemented via MashUPs….. Here is an example of VoIP, Billing, Payment, Ambience Intelligence, Proximetry and Presence.. http://agilepay.ws/ws

  2. We are migrating everything in this mishmash startup to Adobe AIR, eliminating the desktop presentation layer and support costs.

BTW, I used to work with your team at Ctron - was based in Tokyo - and you have a great Nortel SE resource down here in S. Florida ( Chuck Melton - good guy for networks )

So WHY do I miss securefast so much ?????? - no exaggeration, I really do … solves all my problems now

    Good luck senor!
